I think that it's just crazy that Outlook 2003 Professional Edition does not
support subscribing to remote iCalendar (.ics) files. This seemingly simple feature is preventing Windows users at our School of Medicine from being able to subscribe to lecture calendars, student event calendars and syncing this information with their portable devices. Importing .ics files is simply not an acceptable option because of the frequency of change in the calendars. I've done some reading, and aparently this is a feature of "Windows Calendar" which is due to appear along with Windows Vista, when ever that is released; however, I'm scared about the slow adoption rates. Please, spend the development time in a service pack release of Office and include this simple feature so Windows users can enjoy the same calendaring abilities that Mac OS X users enjoy with Apple's (free) iCal application. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes.
