Add me to the list of dissatisfied Outlook 2007 users. Bring back the bell!

As I posed on another thread, they kept the other icons - attachment,
re-occur and private - what's the deal with the bell?

Wow! Another great example of Microsoft arrogance--assuming everyone uses an
application the same way they do, violating the first rule of software
design. Who are these bozos and why do we keep doing business with them?
This is the eigth reason on my list to roll back to Office 2003 and recommend
that others don't upgrade. Leaves me wondering whether Linux could possibly
be this painful.

default and should be applied to all appointments when its enabled, making
the icon unnecessary in the month view. you can use a table view If you need
to look for items without reminders.

I completely agree - this was one of the best time-saving devices,
particularly to ensure that intrusive alarms do not appear on my handheld at
inappropriate and unexpected times. Particularly important when other users
have access to entering appointments on my calendar. They may not have the
motivation (or inclination) to change the default reminder feature to 'None'.

This is a trajic flaw, and I'm surprised there haven't been many more
complaints.
Our office (1500+ employess) just upgraded to Office 2007 and I've spoken to
more than a dozen people about this who agree that the reminder symbol needs
to be added back.
The problem is, I often assume I have a reminder, when I may not actually
have one set. I've missed a couple of appointments already as a result of
this.
I've also noticed the multiple attendees profile symbol is gone.
This is a step backwards.

Add me to the list of those who miss the 'reminder bell' in the calendar
display. I don't know how many times I open appointments to make sure I have
a reminder set. I've become so dependent on the reminder that if it is not
set I will likely be late or even miss appointments.

Me "four" and the local users of an Office 2007 roll out I am doing here.

(By the way, this company is doing a 100,000+ machine roll out.)

Don't tell me they forgot to do a focus group with these folks because users
here are all asking the same question in class - where is the bell.

I've wasted days with my frustrated users not only on the "missing bell"
problem, but on many of the changes in Office 2007. Could MS not just
implement an XP mode? (as my users call it) Where Office 2007 appears and
appears to behave identical to 2003 with maybe a few more buttons?

I have more useful things to work on for my company than being a sounding
board for 2007 frustrations.

I think your users may become even more frustrated when Outlook 2010
introduced the ribbon in the main Outlook window. I'm sure some of it will
change with the final release, but right now, some of Outlook's features are a
tad difficult to find with the current ribbon organization.

You can add my company (and it's 4000+ users) to the list of those NOT
upgrading to Office 2007, at least paritally due to the disappearance of the
bell.

As for Linux, it's wonderful for TechnoGeeks like me. It is however, NOT
"user friendly", and most "average" users would be lost in it, bearing in
mind that the "average" user wouldn't know a Commad Line if he tripped over
it. Even the easiest to use Linux implementations like "Mint" baffle the
heck out of 'em, though in fairness, it would me too, if I wasn't really
comp-u-savvy.

I hope MS sees the error of their ways on this one. It's just not nice to
give users a helpful feature for years, then take it away without at least
making it possible to put it back. I'm a little confused how how they
thought missing critical information "streamlines" anything.
