Default Strange characters in subject line of meeting

Outlook 2003 SP2 on Windows XP SP2
Any one have a reason or care to hazard a guess why in the calendar, a
meeting shows up with strange characters in the subject? Lots of question
marks and square boxes. The location for the meeting shows up correctly. It
only appears that way for one attendee. All other attendees appear fine. If
you open the meeting, the subject is displayed just fine. Customer reports
that she has seen this happen before once or twice and it appears to be
totally random in which meeting displays the strange characters. There are
lots of other meetings that display a correct subject.

Hi Tim

when you post a question, please state at least:

version of Outlook
exactly what your question is (don't expect us to be mind readers)
exactly what you are doing that is/is not working
any error messages you see (exact wording please)
