trying to find out if there is a way (inport?) to move items from an old
employee's calendar into a new employee's calendar without having to type
everything in from scratch.

You'll need to log into the mailbox to export or move the items - you could
use exmerge too. if both are on the same server, you can give the new user
access to the old calendar, add it to the profile and have them move the
items over (or you can log into the mailbox and do it). Hopefully they won’t
have personal items that should not seen by others.
