random recurring appointments
I've been told that in Outlook 2003 it was possible to setup randomly
recurring appointments. I never used it, so I wouldn't now. However, I definitley do not see a way to do this in 2007. My appointment will occur every month but not on the same day or date of each month. Is it possible to do this and I'm simply not seeing the options? I'm using the Exchange version of Outlook. (Not being a techie I don't know how better to explain that. :-)) |

they are mistaken. all versions work the same way.

organization have the same problem and have asked how to deal with it. If this works out, I'll be a hero! Can I join in this topic because we here at our University are currently
migrating from Groupwise (Novell) to Outlook and I have discovered when doing the Introductory training yesterday that I will no longer be able to make multiple random appointments for meetings and that one job that used to take me 45 minutes will, once migrated, take me 9 hours to set up 15 separate weekly meetings for 1-1s with our Directorates 12 Managers on various days when the Director is available for the next three months. The times of the meetings remain the same with just the days of the week changing to fit round other appointments/off campus etc. Are there any plans for Microsoft to wake up to this problem which seems to be fairly common and address it? Groupwise is, at present, looking to me to be a much more sophisticated package because it doesn't believe in 'the tail wagging the dog!' AFAIK, MS has no plans to change how they handle it. Certainly not in
current versions. If the appointments aren't in a pattern, Outlook can't do it. (well, it can, if you set up exceptions but that has other problems). This tool: http://www.websetters.co.uk/WSAddIns...ment/index.htm will do it, but it doesn't create a single recurring appointment like outlook does- it takes the dates and makes individual appointments for you.
