Default Meeting Request response tally

Dear Outlook Gurus,

One of our staff members gets an error appear when they put an appointment
in a public folder calendar (Outlook 2003), as follows:

"Responses to this meeting request will not be tallied because this meeting
is not in your main calendar".

I assume this basically means you can't track responses from invitees
because it's in a public folder calendar (and nothing else sinister!)? Can
someone confirm this to be the case.

Regards
JD2

That's the case... a lot of things only work with the Calendar folder in
your mailbox

Yeah.. because, of course, we would never want to share an appointment with
others in our workgroup, and find out who is coming... never. MS is
ridiculous... I'd laugh if I wasn't crying...

Is there a work around or a way to disable this error? I have a user that
insists that this never happened before and it is now broken.

Reminders, tallying, etc. never work in a non-default folder without an
add-in. That is not an error.

Can you provide a list of add-ins that can provide the ability to tally the
meeting requests in a general (public, non-default) calendar?
