How do I save an appointment from one calendar to another calenda.

Our office has a Public Calendar and we each have our personal calendars.
When I enter an appointment or all day event into one calendar, I would
sometimes like to post it to the other calendar as well without having to
re-enter the item It seems like this should be possible, any ideas? I don't
want to save every entry in one calendar to the other, just an option when I
save to save some to the other calendar.
