Appointments made on shared calendars take to long to show up.
I work with one other person at the front desk in an academic office where we
regularly schedule appointments for students to meet with the advisors in our office. My co-worker and I use Outlook 2007 as a scheduling tool. The advisors make their personal calendars available to us, we then make appointments with students and place those appointments directly on the advisor calendars. It's a good system, but it breaks down due to a problem we're having with Outlook. Normally, an appointment I make will show up on my co-workers computer right away, but occasionally it takes a long time. We've seen cases when the appointment made on one computer doesn't show up on the other for hours, sometimes not even until the next day. This can lead to double-bookings and a lot of unnecessary rescheduling. Is there any way to fix this problem? --- Andy Burt Student Services Associate Office of Teacher Education Indiana University |
