Hello,
I have Outlook 2007 connected to Exchange 2007 mailbox. I have set my default mail delivery to a local personal folder PST. I wanted to share my calendar with my assisstant so he can view and edit my calendar. I granted him the required permissions on my Exchange mailbox and he can edit my calendar on the mailbox. Now, I have different items in both Calendar folders (the one located in my PST and the other in my mailbox). I use PST as the default delivery for my mails for the following reasons: 1. We have a mailbox size policy so I can't save much of items in my Exchange mailbox. So I have much of space in my PST. 2. I need to carry my laptop to work out my emails away from the corporate network every day. I'm thinking of having a tool or way to synchronize both Calendar folders (PST Calendar with Exchange Mailbox Calendar) in both ways. Could you please advice me how to overcome this scenario. |

1. so move or archive older messages to a pst. or use rules to move
messages. 2. why don’t you use cached exchange - this allows you to use exchange mailbox and take it with you. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: You can access this newsgroup by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...s/default.mspx or point your newsreader to msnews.microsoft.com. Thanks for the reply Diane,
1. I have no problem with emails as I have configured a rule to move items to PST, is there a rule to copy calendar items? 2. Cached Exchange Mode is enabled but will calendar items be cached as well? I checked the tools in http://www.slipstick.com and found tools to synchronize with public folders or Internet hosted services, both techniques will not work for me. Appreciate your help! |

1. No, you can't use rules to move calendar items (other than meeting
requests, which come by email). Typically calendar items don't use a lot of space unless you add attachments to them, so you should be well under the allotted mailbox size if you move mail. If not, the mailbox size policy is way too small and needs to be reviewed because its hindering efficient use of exchange. How much do they give you? Do you have a lot of sync errors, use the journal, or published custom forms? These have the potential to use up your space without you noticing. To check folder sizes - right-click Outlook Today, and then click Properties for Mailbox (User Name). Click the General tab, and then click the Folder Size. This will give you an idea if anything is out of sorts. The one sync folder is not put into the cache - you'll need to use non-cached mode or OWA to delete stuff from it. 2. Yes, calendar items in your exchange mailbox will be cached - everything in your mailbox will be cached. If someone shares their calendar with you, it can be cached to (must be added as a secondary mailbox). Public folders can be cached too. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: You can access this newsgroup by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...s/default.mspx or point your newsreader to msnews.microsoft.com. Found several threads about this issue, none of them with a conclusive answer
for my situation; here we go : I have 2 exchangeservers and one PDA. I have 2 laptops which I work on. I sync my PDA with 2 computers and 1 Exchange server (srv1). I want my work-computer to deliver email and calender items to my local pst file, as I can only sync my PDA with one exchange server. I want my collegues to be able to check my schedule data on the exchange server that I don't use to sync with on my PDA (srv2). THAT is why : I want to keep my pst as mail delivery location on my laptop. AND I want some tool (outlook, or thrd party) to synchronize that local PST with my secondary exchangeserver (srv2) so that my co workers can see my schedule. Could you please advice? Thnx. Just to be sure : 1 PDA, syncing with 2 computers and one exchangeserver 2 computers with local pst's GOAL : one of two computers syncronizes local PST with second exchangeserver. |

Moha- Did you find a resolution to the issue of keeping both exchange and pst
folders in sycn. I have the same issues, my cause of concern in addition is that we use OC and the status is set auto based on Server Outlook calendar. "Diane Poremsky [MVP]" wrote: 1.
