Why am I loosing data in Outlook calendar?

I am using Outlook 2003.

I went to look back at a doctors appointment in Feb 2006 and could not find
it.
All of my past data was gone except dates that have future reoccuring dates.

What happened? Is there a setting in the archiving or somewhere I need to
check?

You can find out. Right-click the Calendar folder, choose Properties, then
examine the AutoArchive tab. You can also examine FileArchive for the
global settings.
