Show Time As...
It would be nice to have an option to Show Time As...with different than the
default settings. Like we have Free, Busy, Out of Office and Tentative right now in the systemm it would be nice to have other options, like Working Remote (so the user knows I am available, but not in the office) or even options to create our own system wide and define within the organization. With the popularity of telecommuting only getting more widespread, the option to reflect that in the scheduler would help out the meeting organizers a lot. Just an idea. Thanks. If anyone has suggestions as to how we can do, that would be great. Currently, I set my entire day to Tentative - this prompts the meeting organizer to contact me if they need a face to face. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. Tentative is the best way right now - I also recommend using subjects that
show the type of appointment you are available for - Phone calls only, @Downtown office, etc. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Need Help with Common Tasks? http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/ Outlook 2007: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2007/ Outlook Tips by email: Exchange Messaging Outlook newsletter: Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com You can access this newsgroup by visiting http://www.microsoft.com/office/comm...s/default.mspx or point your newsreader to msnews.microsoft.com. We just implemented OCSR2, specifically to support Telecommuting as a cost
savings for employees. This is one of the features our users have asked about specifically to alleviate confusion when trying to schedule between those of us in the office and those of us at home. A modification to "Show Time As" options is the easy way out. Perhaps you could integrate enhanced presence data from OCS to update Outlook options with the same status information. Ultimately it would just be nice if Outlook had the intelligence to "notify" the organizer for whatever conferencing needs the meeting participants may request based on their status for the meeting time. at least I hope we are going to get the option to change the default "show as"
"Diane Poremsky [MVP]" wrote: Unfortunately, its not going to happen for awhile - outlook 2010 has the same show time as options as previous versions. One option is for telecommuters to make tentative appointments for their available time and put something like "telecommuting" or "available for tele conferences" in the subject. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Author, Teach Yourself Outlook 2003 in 24 Hours Need Help with Common Tasks? http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/ Outlook 2007: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2007/ Outlook Tips by email: Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Subscribe to Exchange Messaging Outlook newsletter: "tnarsenal" wrote in message ...
