My organization is in the process of importing calendars from an open source
calendar product into Outlook. The calendars have been exported to ical format and then opened in Outlook and copied into a public folder. We have no control over what is exported from the old calendar program, short of editing the .ics file (NOT going to happen!). Each calendar event is coming in as a meeting set for 12:00am. My account is set up as the meeting organizer, I suppose because I am the one that imported them. (As a side note, I wonder if it is possible to change the meeting organizer once the meeting is established?) Most of the entries have a single meeting participant, which appears to be the individual who created the event on the old calendar. (?) I have been changing the meetings to all day events in order to make them appear on the Weekly calendar view without having users scroll up to the 12:00am timepoint. (I'm doing this by simply dragging the meeting up to the top in the Weekly view.) My problem is that every time that I do so, it's sending a notification to the single meeting participant. (There's no option NOT to send a notification!!??!!??) If I remove the single participant prior to moving the meeting, it sends them a cancellation notification. We have literally THOUSANDS of entries that need to be adjusted. I'd like to accomplish the following two things: 1) Make each event an all day event and 2) remove any meeting participants, WITHOUT sending out a notification for each event. Is this possible??? At some point in the future, we will be establishing specific timepoints for each event, and adding appropriate users as participants, but that's another issue entirely. Any help you can offer will be very much appreciated. |
