Outgoing Meeting Invites received as email without "accept" functi

I have successfully used Office/Outlook 2003 for four years on my home pc
Now, suddently, when I send a meeting invite, it is displayed as an email
only and the invitee cannot accept or decline and it does not show up on
their calendar as tentitive. I have determined, by sending invites from
another computer and my computer that the problem is with the Outlook
Calendar function (or some system wide bug) on my home pc. Any suggestions?

Is that recipient set to get plain text only? Double click on the address
before sending it to check. Use RTF for invites. Also check the internet
format in tools, options, mail format. It should be on let outlook decide.
