Recurring meeting requests between Outlook and Lotus Notes

I work with a company who are using Lotus Notes V6.5 and I am running Outlook
2000 SP3

If I set up a recurring meeting in my diary with them they only get the
first instance in their diary.

Similarly if they set up a recurring meeting with me I only get the first
instance in my diary.

Is there an easy way to solve this?
