Random font change when replying to or forwarding mails in Outlook Express
Hello,
thanks for your help. The weird thing is that this happens even with mails that I reply to from my own Outlook Express. Here is the source code of one of those mails: DIV P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN-LEFT: 35.4pt; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto"SPAN class=apple-style-spanFONT face="Times New Roman" color=black size=7SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 100pt; COLOR: black"Laat me even weten of dit helpt, zo niet: proberen we nog iets anders..../SPAN/FONT/SPANO:P style="FONT-SIZE: 16px; FONT-FAMILY: Times New Roman"/O:PFONT color=blackSPAN style="COLOR: black"O:P style="FONT-SIZE: 16px; FONT-FAMILY: Times New Roman"/O:Po:p/o:p/SPAN/FONT/P/DIV DIV As you can see, just that one sentence changed to a font of 100 points, although I never specified that... Regards, GP "Tim K" schreef in bericht ink.net... Hi GP, I don't have information specific to the issue, but the font size may be the root of the problem. A mail program not (completely) compatible with OE that is designating the font size to be "100" may be the cause. Outlook Express can only use a font size of 8, 10, 12, 14, 18, 24 and 36, and is unable to correctly interpret other font sizes. The MS news server experienced some trouble the last few day. Hello, I am experiencing a rather strange issue with mail in Outlook Express: I often receive mails which I reply to or forward. Sometimes the recipient will get those mails with certain characters or paragraphs changed to a very large font. This is totally random and can be just a few words in a line, or an entire line, or just a few characters. In order to exclude any software problems on my computer, I reinstalled XP with SP2, but even with a fresh install, the problem remains. The only way to get rid of those characters is to go to Tools - Options - Accessibility in Internet Explorer, and select the field to ignore font sizes on webpages, which of course makes web browsing a not so nice experience. Does anybody have an idea what could cause this ? I have done everything from changing fonts to scanning the registry for any clue. When I look at the source of the emails with the large fonts, I can see that it is font type Arial with a font size of 100. I have a feeling that it has something to do with web settings, but I donīt know where else to look. Thanks for any help in advance. GP |

That's because the original mail probably was Outlook, which has hideous
HTML, such as what you posted below. Why it got to 100 pt is another issue, but that's clearly code from MS Office and not OE. steve wrote in message ... Hello, thanks for your help.
