Hi,
I recently had to do a "restore to factory specs.". Every thing is working OK now except one item. I had backed up on CD a number of "Stationeries", saved with the extension ..eml. Previous to the backing up these could merely be clicked on and would appear ready to be sent as E-Mails complete with text, graphics and music. Now on clicking on one of these, error messages appear: "OE could not be started. 0x800C000D". "MSOE.DLL could not be initialized". OE works perfectly in all other respects and when I right-click one of these ..eml files and choose "Send to/ Mail recipient", it works! OE opens up but with the file as an attachment. I would much rather have it "the way things were". Is there some way I can do this? Thank you. Andy I. (OE/IE 6; WIN98SE; Compaq 5711) |

![]() Thanks, "Touch Base". I followed the instructions in that MS support article (238656) but I found that none of my .dbx files were set to "Read Only". Further suggestions welcome! Andy I. This article has the most likely answer:
249893 - OLEXP: Error Message: The Identity Login Could Not Be Started: http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;Q249893 You should always state the operating system you are using, along with the version number of Outlook Express shown in the Help/About screen for that program when you are posting and asking for assistance. Otherwise a lot of time is wasted try to "guess" at the possible answer. -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Outlook Express https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/pr...8-1171988A62D6 Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped. When you copied the saved Stationeries back to your HDD, where did you save
them, (Desktop)? Make sure *those* folders aren't Read Only. Copying to CD automatically sets that when it is copied back to your HDD. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "brackenburn" [email protected] wrote in message ... Thanks Jim. I did "state the operating system I am using" and "version
number of Outlook Express". I even threw in the computer make and model for good measure. I also "delivered feedback" to the first response. I know that MVP's are VBP's (Very Busy Persons) and you have to use "prefabbed" responses sometimes, but I do feel somewhat chastised ;-). Neverthe less, your work is much appreciated and your advice has been very helpful to me in the past. Andy I. "Jim Pickering" wrote in message ... Thanks Bruce.
When I copied the saved Stationeries back to my HDD, I saved them in a folder which I created ("My Documents 2"). I never thought of checking *their* properties! I find that none of *those* files that I've checked are Read Only. BTW.......... *Those* **?!!*?!! files are now working as intended. (Don't ask.) I did nothing, NOTHING!! I swear......... a lot.
