Problem with Outlook Exp6
When my father tries to send me an attachment such as one of the short
video things that eveyone sends you in e-mail, it gets broken up into a bunch of seperate e-mails. He sent me a short video clip, about 2mb in size, and it came to me as 78 different e-mails none of contained anything. Any ideas?? |

Is he using Outlook Express? Have him go to Tools | Accounts | Mail |
Properties | Advanced and uncheck: "Break apart messages larger than.......". If sending that way is the only option, then you have to put the message back together. From Help (F1). Combine and Decode messages. To combine multipart messages Sometimes, when a large message (one that contains pictures, audio files, or other large objects) is sent in e-mail or posted to a newsgroup, it is broken into smaller files and displayed as several messages. You can combine the messages to recreate the original message and display it in Outlook Express. 1.. Select all of the messages that are part of the original message (each part will usually have a number). 2.. On the Message menu, click Combine and Decode. 3.. If needed, reorder the parts in the correct sequence. Note a.. After you combine and decode the message, it is displayed in a separate window. The message will continue to be displayed in the message list as several smaller messages. To save the recreated message, on the File menu, click Save As. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ wrote in message ... Hi Gate Keeper,
The setting for breaking apart messages is under the Advanced tab of a mail account's properties. Your father could try deselecting break-up of messages. The size of a sent message may be limited by the ISP. It might be necessary to break-up large messages, but 78 parts is excessive. Two or four parts (do the math) could be tried if there is a problem sending the complete file. -- Tim K. aka Kuay Tim MS-MVP - Outlook Express Lynnwood, WA * wrote in message ... I just got off of the phone with dad and he found the very thing that you both advised me on. I wish I had found it before him. (Kind of a little father/son competition thing) His was set to split up into 16kb pieces. Thanks again for the help!! |
