Macros?
 

I may be using an out-of-date term, but years ago various
programs allowed the use of a brief set of characters to
represent a much longer set of characters. For example I
think I was able to type something like #ad and have my
full address appear. Haven't used that on my newer computer
systems, but now I can see a use for it on some websites.
Is such a shortcut method available in IE or OE? If so I'd
appreciate a pointer to a tutorial on the topic. Thanks.

Macros?
 

Not easily accomplished in OE unless you have programming skills. However there are
several stand-alone macro programs out there. Try google XP Macro for starters. Some of
these offer very complex programming capabilities, most will accept a sequence of key and
mouse strokes, memorize them and then allow them within specific windows. Only problem for
me is that makes another memory drain.
