Lock down and copy settings...

I want to lock down the OE settings for each user after I have set them, is
this possible? I would also like this to have a template for these settings
for all users, is this possible?

Chris

You can backup using OEQB and then that will save all the settings for all
users within a given user profile.

See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#6

Thanks Steve but thats not what I am looking for. I am looking to set the
options to my preferences and implement them on a per user basis without
having to manually reconfigure.....

Do you want separate settings for each user such as Plain Text for one and
HTML for another, etc.? Create separate identities for each user.

Bruce,

As an admin I am only interested in locking things down like:

frequency of retreival, no preview pane, returning read receipts, etc.

When I set up a new account I need to logon as the user import the account
and then manually configure the options as mentioned above. What I would like
to be ablt to do is to export these required options or the containing file
and import or copy the relevant file(s) and then say make these settings read
only.

Eg. Previewing messages can leave users open to virus intrusions, I turn it
off then the user might turn it back on, the like of this I wish to prvent...

I don't believe you can do that globally. We'll have to wait for another
opinion to be sure.

You would have to write a program to set the settings for each user. Those
settings are in the registry. OE has no way of doing this.
