If it's happening to open Outlook Express, that would likely be an
Identity password. To change that, go to File, Identities, Manage Identities, select the identity being used, then Properties. If it's happening when you go to download mail, that would be the mail server password which the server requires. You have no choice in that. But Outlook Express can be set to store the password and send it to the mail server when needed. If the Save Password is checked but doesn't seem to work, then see: Cannot Save E-Mail Account Password in Outlook Express (Webroot Software Window Washer) http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=228713 Outlook Express Does Not Save the Mail Server Logon Password (Win98/Me/NT4) http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=216382 Your Password Is Not Retained in Windows 2000 or XP http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=264672 Another possibility, is if you have a cable or DSL connection, but Outlook Express has been told to use a dial-up connection, it's trying dial the ISP. Check your settings in Outlook Express at Tools, Accounts, Mail/News, Properties, Connection for each mail and news account. One or more of the accounts may be set to always dial a specific connection. You don't want that option in OE UNLESS you actually are using a dial-up connection. -- Mike - http://pages.prodigy.net/michael_santovec/techhelp.htm "oldjack" wrote in message ...
