Hi Tim,
Yes they will be, for Outlook Express your email is stored in .dbx files, located as follows : C:\Documents and Settings\[ Username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{ID}\Microsoft\Outlook Express Your contacts for Outlook Express will be in your windows address book, located as follows : C:\Documents and Settings\[ Username ]\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book\ For Outlook your email and contacts are stored in a .PST file and is located as follows : C:\Documents and Settings\Andy\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook Boot into safe mode and copy your old files over the top of your new files, reboot and your email and contacts should be restored. Hope that helps ? Hi Tim,
Outlook Express uses a default Windows Address Book, or WAB file. Look for the old user name.wab file on the old hard drive. Search for *.wab. Include hidden files and folders in the search. Move a copy of the file to the new desktop and try importing from that location. The addresses may be imported in total without sub-folders (if any) intact. -- Tim K. aka Kuay Tim MS-MVP - Outlook Express Lynnwood, WA * "tim harrison" wrote in message ... i have installed a new hard drive with a new operating system. my original HD is now a slave, but still has the original operating system and software on it. wouldn't all my old email contacts still be on it somewhere? |
