advantage of photo insertion sizes) outlook opens. have followed info on these pages and have made sure all is ok even changed registry (which already said right thing) but changed anyway. have also changed details in folder options and file types. when i now use send to, fresh mailbox opens which belongs to OE and all seems ok, but if use send to again in same session outlook opens?????? is there a way to reduce photo size for email via OE when using file insert? plus what is advantage or disadvantage of using outlook only? regards, Alby |

Hi bruce thanks for your info unfortunatly i have seriously buggered up my
system by changing a file type and cannot now use system restore, can't open safe mode, or command prompt or even as last resort re-install windows. if you or anyone has any advise on how get around this. this problem occured when i changed "mail to protocol" it didnt work so i deleted it or so i thought as i deleted something else tried to resolve but just made matters worse. if some can advise on how to access or enable system restore without having to go through help and support. or assist in enabling help and support by changing help and support file type. many thanks Alby "Bruce Hagen" wrote: Make OE the default e-mail client: http://www.oehelp.com/oedef.aspx For links in e-mail: http://www.oehelp.com/oelnk.aspx And: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306098 If you have MS Outlook installed, also see: http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#13 If you insert a graphic into a new message you have to resize it first. Hi bruce and others thanks for your recent info, my problem with my system
not allowing me to restore, format or generally do anything was only resolved by re-installing xp, i was only able to do this via my bios and change the boot from setting to boot from cd-rom. the re-installing allowed a "semi re-install" rather than clean install so all files not pertaining to xp would be kept, however as the registry was rewritten all other software ie office, printers etc had to be reinstalled also. the send to mail recipient i also resolved by not installing outlook in the office install therefore the only mail prog is now outlook express and the send to works fine and more than once. if other folks are having probs with "send to" forget rewritting the registry or doing anything with file types (thats the road to misery)i suggest uninstalling outlook either via control panel/add remove progs, highlight your office prog and click add remove componets box to left of panel or insert office cd rom and use remove components from there. outlook express should make itself the default mail prog by err default, test it by using send to mail recipient and use your own address to send to. you will find that the email is full of crap about the safety of email attachments it will always be there, just highlight it and delete there is away of removing this but again its to do with rewritting the registry, my advice is dont do it! alternatively if you have a photo editing prog that comes with printers, scanners, cameras etc, check it out to see if it will send your pics to the mail prog in a compressed format. i just done it with my HP printer software, it did it but the pics on return where of a much larger viewing size than the ones done via send to but compression was same. many thanks again folks Alby "Bruce Hagen" wrote: Make OE the default e-mail client: http://www.oehelp.com/oedef.aspx For links in e-mail: http://www.oehelp.com/oelnk.aspx And: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306098 If you have MS Outlook installed, also see: http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#13 If you insert a graphic into a new message you have to resize it first.
