I use Outlook Express with my Road Runner account, and for email from my web
site. I hardly ever get a real email from the Road Runner account as my main email is my AOL account. However, I do get important mail from the web site. When I get email from either account, I am unable to tell which account they are coming to, as they are mixed together in one view and all I see, initially, is the sendor's name and the subject, not the email it is being sent to. I have to click on it to see which account it is being sent to. Lately, I've been getting around 1/2 dozen Spam emails a day to my Road Runner account. They are all hyping stocks. I send the URL to the RR Spamblockers, and they block the url from further contact, but they are all being sent from different URLS. Same basic email, from multiple URLS. Since they come to an account which I do not get legitimate email from (at least hardly ever), I'd like to be able to separate the two accounts, or at least the email from them. I'd like to send all of the email from the RR account to a junk or spam folder, and that way I can keep my important web mail separate and just review all of the spam periodically, in one shot. It seems like there ought to be a simple way to do this, but I have no idea how. I think it might have to do with setting up separate accounts or identities; I believe both accounts are under the same identity. So, does anyone out there have a simple solution to my problem? thanks, Steven |

Let's start by separating the incoming mail from the two accounts.
First, create a local folder to be used as a second Inbox and name it anything you want. (Inbox-2)? Use this for one of the accounts, and the default Inbox for the other. Then create a message rule. Where the message is from the specified account. Move it to the specified folder & Stop processing more rules. Click on: Specified Account and enter the account name for the second Inbox. Click on: Specified Folder and select the folder you created. Name the rule. Move this rule to the top of the rules list and the incoming messages will be separated into their respective folders. We'll work on the other problems later. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "sdavies6" wrote in message ... FANTASTIC. And quite simple. Now I have a new folder where all of the mail
to my RR account goes, and the Inbox is where mail from my web goes. What other problems were you talking about? I think you've solved it. You said I should move it to the top of the rules, but this is the only rule I have. I really appreciate your help. Steven "Bruce Hagen" wrote in message ... You're welcome and glad you're happy. You had mentioned spam, which was the
other problem I was referring to. OE rules are very rudiment, but have a look at these links if you wish. The SPAM is almost 100% to my Road Runner account, so I now have those
emails separate from my real mail. A quick look at the headers should tell me I can delete the whole thing. I get very little SPAM to my web page, but I'll have to live with it. Almost 100% of the people who contact me are unknown by me before the contact. It would be impossible to prescreen the contacts. For now, it is quite tolerable.
