OE removing "unsafe" attachments

My Outlook Express 6.0 is removing what it calls "unsafe" attachments. But
several times they have been perfectly safe attachments from trusted
colleagues and it is very frustrating when I cannot access them. How do I
solve the problem?

1. Start Outlook Express.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
3. Click the Security tab, click to clear the Do not allow attachments to be
saved or opened that could potentially be a virus check box under Virus
Protection, and then click OK.
See:

"Cannot Open E-Mail Attachments in Outlook Express After You Install SP1".

Eric, please read

Thanks very much Vincenzo. Is there any way to access an attachment that has
been blocked, or do I have to have them resend it after performing the action
you advised?

This is also the most asked question on all news sites !! so you would think
an explanation should automatically be offered when attachements are
blocked!!

You would also think people would look at menus, options, and help files to
learn how to run their programs.

You know, just because you're PC Savvy, doesn't mean that Eric is... you'd
also think people might have some humanity, and give each other a break and
not be so judgemental! After all what is this forum here for in the first
place, but to give people a place to go when they need help and assistance!
Shame on you Tom!
