Spell Checking does not work in OE:
http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/spellcheck.htm

And: An error occurred while the spelling was being checked or: Spell Check
was halted:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=224176

No idea about the fonts. Maybe if you posted the error message we could
help.

You do have the necessary program(s) for Spell Check to work, I assume?

OE 6 does not come with it's own spell check. You need Word or an MS Office
program. The spell checker in Works 4 through 6 will work with OE, but not
other editions. If you do, then follow the instructions he

Now you're calling it Outlook, a completely different program than OE.

I do not know why this has not worked for you. You are the first person I
have encountered that these fixes did not resolve the problem. I have two
other suggestions:

You may have a damaged identity. File | Identity | Add New Identity. Create
a new one and test it. If all is well, you can import your messages from the
old identity and delete it.

Or, forget fixing it, and download a free spell check at one of these sites.
