I have created groups in Outlook Express over the years for a mailing list
that I maintain. The mailing list has gotten quite large and I need to convert the group into a .csv file so that the messages will be sent using a mass e-mail sender, inside of Outlook Express. I have attempted to export the Address Book, but it will only export the contacts in the address book and not the groups. I read other messages on here that said to go into the group and Select All and Copy, but those features aren't available on my version of Outlook Express (Version 6). Any ideas? |

Only the Contacts in the Shared Folders will export. Open any group, select
all members of the Group (Ctrl+A), then press Ctrl+C to copy them to the clipboard. Now open Shared Contacts and click in the Add Contact area and press Ctrl+V to copy the clipboard contents into the folder. You will have to do click OK for each entry, but it saves a lot of typing. You will have to do this for each Group you have created. Then export the entire book as a CSV (Text) file which can be manipulated in any spreadsheet. -- Jim Pickering, MVP, Outlook Express https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/pr...8-1171988A62D6 Please deliver feedback to the newsgroup, so that others can be helped. Select All is not available on the right click menu.
It is available under Edit, Select All. -- Ron Sommer From another post: The group entries could be copied to a Windows folder. The address book could be rebuilt by first moving the group entries into the Main Contacts folder, and then into a new sub-folder. It may be possible to copy directly into a sub-folder, but this will not work in all circumstances. When the groups are completed import the entries exported as a CSV file from the old address book.
