I keep trying to connect to Outlook Express, but I keep getting the
message, Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'mail@', Server: 'xxx.171.xxx.66', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F I have stopped (free) Zone Alarm firewall and tried again, but still get same message. I have even stopped the AVG AntiVirus program and tried it again without success. I can access the email via the web browser, and occasionally I do get the first email downloaded (but not deleted from the server) but something seems to stop OE from continuing. The Outlook Express POP3.log seems to be truncated (see below). The log seems to indicate that it gets to the same place each time and then bombs out. Any ideas anyone please? Thanks, Paul POP3.log file.... This is still happening today. If you look at the time, you can see where one finishes and the next attempt begins. 07:57 & 08:02 Outlook Express 6.00.2900.2869 (xpsp_sp2_gdr.060316-1512) POP3 Log started at 05/31/2006 07:56:56 POP3: 07:56:57 [rx] +OK Hello there. oups.com... I keep trying to connect to Outlook Express, but I keep getting the message, Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Account: 'mail@', Server: 'xxx.171.xxx.66', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F This was answered in another newsgroup. If you must post identical messages in more than one newsgroup please crosspost, i.e. please place all of the newsgroups in the Newsgroup field of one message, separated by commas. That way when someone reads the message in one newsgroup it will be marked as read in all of them. In addition, an answer posted in one newsgroup will generally show up in all of them. This is usually not necessary since most of those who answer posts read more than one newsgroup. See http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP, OE/WM Please reply in newsgroup. |
