Spurious Attachments
I have recently had to reinstall Windows XP and reinstall OE. Ever since
then most, not all, incoming mail shows an attachment whether there is one or not. This does not appear to be the "Begin" bug since I have proved this by sending myself pairs of emails one with an attachment and one without which are otherwise blank. Both indicate there is an attachment. I have installed SP2. any ideas please? Regards Mike Dean |

If the message contains any HTML and you are reading in Plain Text, you will
see the paper clip. Also, if you are using AVG for your anti-virus and have e-mail scanning enabled, that can cause the issue as well. Turn off the e-mail scanning feature. It is a redundant layer of protection that eats up CPUs and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs and account setting changes. Your up-to-date A/V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Mike Dean" jmdean@btinternet,com wrote in message ...
