And what happens when you click on that link? (You post here using the
ATT.net newsserver, LB, not the MS newsserver.)

If you're running IE7 Beta2, is it selected as your default browser?

I have ordered the Beta of Vista, so I would like to monitor the Vista
specific News Group
I want to access the newsgroup
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof....vista.general, kindly
provided by Bruce Hagen.
But the link does not work.

Yes I sorted out the Hijack, thanks very much.

I am using msnews.microsoft.com. IE6.1, Outlook Express 6, Windows XP SP2

Would the Vista Newsgroups only be visible IE 7 users.???

I tried a new identity, that didn't work.

I can use the Vista web news groups, but I don't like to use them.

I am using IE6 and I can get access to 34 Vista news groups, so what are you
doing wrong? :-)

news://msnews.microsoft.com

Also try news://news.microsoft.com

If those links do not create an account for you try setting the account up
afresh using - news.microsoft.com -or- msnews.microsoft.com - as the server
name.

They are both the same server but I have read elsewhere, that you are not
alone in being unable to get to them.

I can get them on both server names.

Thanks for the feedback Barry, the poster in another thread, got the Vista
groups to appear by doing the reverse of what you did, go figure?

Good News, a new identity sorted out the problem.

Many thanks for the constructive advice.
