Need to save e-mail to XP desktop to send out same one many times
In Win98 I was able to save an e-mail to the desktop, open it & send it out
many different times. Kind of like using it as a form letter. I would just enter the address & send. I can't do this with XP. I can save it to the desktop but when I open it to enter the address or edit it I can only read it not edit it in any way. Any ideas why??? Thanks! |

The patch KB911567 messed this up, but there is a patch for the patch now to
fix it. Update for Outlook Express 6.0 on Microsoft Windows XP (KB918766): http://tinyurl.com/mx3r2 This update contains changes to address errors in Windows Address Book, to backup mail data prior to compaction, and to enable template e-mail files. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Lightfoottoo" wrote in message . .. Since you have WinXP SP2 you want this update: There are two articles, KB918766 and KB918651, but the latter is not currently available. The download link is http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en It places the backup in Recycled, overwriting any earlier backup of the sane folder(s). To use it, copy it to the store folder, delete the one you want to replace and then rename the BAK file to DBX. (It's a bit more complicated if the messed up DBX file isn't there or contains messages that are hew that you want to keep. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP, OE/WM Please reply in newsgroup. |
Need to save e-mail to XP desktop to send out same one many times
Just downloaded & installed both updates rebooted & still the same. When I
save to desktop or any folder other than drafts it is un-editable. Cannot add or change anything. If I save it to drafts I can only use it once. "Frank Saunders, MS-MVP, OE/WM" wrote in message ... As Frank and Robear suggested, you still have to edit the registry. (Forgot
that part). If you are not comfortable doing that, see this link below that has the ability to edit the registry for you: http://www.insideoe.com/#kb918651 -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "Lightfoottoo" wrote in message . ..
