AFAIK, It is only at the download center. ( Patch KB918651:
http://tinyurl.com/mx3r2 ). See my latest reply to MargM. It's a two
part process.

Only if I have problems with my address book or use emails as
template, yes?

The second part is only for templates. See:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918766

I read that. I use signatures rather than templates so do you think it's
worth changing the registry?

Sigs and templates are completely different items. A template could be a
blank e-mail with a special background, or a standard message saved so you
only have to enter an address to send it. These remain on your Desktop, or
wherever you save them. I have quite a few. If you ever had a use for
something like that, you will need the reg hack. It won't hurt to do it and
if you look at Toms site, he has a downloadable Zip file that all you have
to do is Run it and the registry change is made. No muss. No fuss.

You may not have this patch, and be sure to see the link
at the bottom. It is a two part fix.

Patch KB918651:
http://tinyurl.com/mx3r2

Hi again Bruce
I downloaded and installed this. Tried opening and
closing OE and this pesky dialog box still kept appearing
.. So I thought I try compacting manually........ Seems to
have fixed the problem

This patch addresses some of the issues that were caused
by KB911567.

Address Book problems.
Unsent templates appearing as sent.
Manually compacting will now reset the registry counter
to Zero in WinXP/SP2.

See this link for more important information about
editing the registry to complete the process:
http://www.insideoe.com/#kb918651

I would be very wary about editing the registry . Looks
like this step wont be necessary anyway ( fingers
crossed )

Many thanks for your help

Bye

Thanks, it worked like a charm but only when I used IE. Firefox didn't work.
