Short of running your own MTA, or switching to a different email client, I can't think of anything that you could try. MS Outlook Express just isn't designed for extensive filtering of email. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |

In mail rules there are several "conditions" I can select, then I have
several options, one of which is to not download, or to delete from server. But HTML ONLY is not one of them. And about "Read all messages in plain text": There are many legitimate messages, such as newsletters, that have text but have to be read in HTML (Komando, for example). But IE6 will not let me open the HTML attachments. (It used to - don't know what changed. (I'm using ZoneAlarm firewall and AVG Free edition anti-virus). Ken "N. Miller" wrote in message ... Because OE does not filter on HTML messages or part the HTML part of a
message. Never has. It will only look at the text part. Believe me, it's been asked for since OE5.0, I know I asked during the beta. "Ken_B" wrote in message news:4QUog.93683$IZ2.84467@dukeread07... Technically, for POP3 connections that would be impossible. The best it could do is use the TOP 0 command (when available) to download and inspect only an E-mail's headers. Supposedly what you're looking for may be more feasible using IMAP but even then it's hard to imagine how you would be able to filter on HTML content without first downloading it. ; ) Robert Aldwinckle --- |

That's the problem. People want the computer to read the message and not
download it if it has certain characteristics, but how do you read it without downloading it? G I wrote a server side filter when swen came out, but that still had to access the message contents first as well (although it was easy to filter swen). steve "Robert Aldwinckle" wrote in message ...
