Eudora to I.E. 6 Problem
Hi folks,
This is a rather annoying little problem, and I hope that I am posting this in the right place. Any help would be very much appreciated. I am importing messages from Eudora 5.1 into Outlook Express 6. My ISP (e-mail provider) no longer supports Eudora (long story - basically they are using a new Spam guarding program which they claim will not work properly with Eurora?) Anyhow, when I've imported the messages, all of the messages that were sent "TO" someone else and hence are very easy to archive/search, now appear in OE 6 as being "From" me. This is a real drag when it comes to locating older messages that you have archived. If I have all received/sent messages on the same subject in the same folder, I have to now keep two columns "To" and "From" to see all of the information that one column used to give me before. This seems to stem from the fact that Eudora very cleverly did not use "To" or "From". They merely used "Who", keeping the user out of the loop as you always knew that you were the recipient or the sender. Now, I am well aware that OE has an option to show both "To" and "From", but I don't really want to go down that route. For future messages, I guess that I can keep them all in the "Sent Items" folder for easy access. But is there a way to keep all related messages in the same related folder where I can see "Who" they are from or were sent to alone, without having to look at "From" and "To"? Hope that wasn't too confusing. It's likely just something that I will have to learn to live with. OE users may not be sympathetic, but former Eurdora people may be :) Dave |

Presumably you can get your mail via the web interface of your ISP? Any Spam control takes effect there. Actually, the web interface has nothing to do with spam control. The spam control should be taking place on the SMTP server before it passes email to the POP3 server, or on the POP3 server, itself. Once email is on the POP3 server, it may be accessed by a web browser, or, if the service is available, by downloading with a POP3 client; but the spam checking has already been done. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |
