Hi Ron,

If Outlook is installed on the same PC 'export' the data. See OE help for
more information. If Outlook is on another PC backup the OE data and import
to OE on the other PC. The meaning of your last question, "how do I make
Microsoft my default address?", is unclear -- please elaborate.

Thank you Kuay.

Excuse my computer illiteracy. I want to transfer all my email stuff from
Outlook Express to Microsoft Office because of the compacting thing that
Outlook does. To do this do I click "Export to file", and when it is
exported to Microsoft Office does it disappear from Outlook, or is it merely
copying the info.

Sorry, "how do I make Microsoft my default address?", I meant that I
clicked the box that said to make Microsoft my default email server and it
didn't seem to work.

If none of this makes senses to you(as I said, I am a computer mug) that's
ok, and thanks for your reply. It was appreciated.

Cheers

Ron

Hi Ron,

When messages are exported from Outlook Express to Outlook they are copied
(and their storage format altered to a *.pst file for use in Outlook). The
messages are not removed from OE.

I assume that Outlook (not OE) asked to be made the default mail 'client' --
not address or server. You can check Internet Options Control Panel/Programs
to see which mail client is the default. This Control Panel is also
available from the IE Tools menu.
