Empty Deleted Items and then compact your folders.
Click on Outlook Express at the top of the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work Offline (or double click Working Online in the Status Bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed. Unless someone has a tool to read from the HDD, they will never find them. If you are worried about the FBI or CIA, then you would have to completely wipe your HDD clean and to a reinstall of your OS. -- Bruce Hagen MS MVP - Outlook Express ~IB-CA~ "s" wrote in message ... can someone tell me how to PERMANENTLY delete emails? You need to take the hard drive and crush it and and then make sure the
platters are destroyed completely. steve "s" wrote in message ... can someone tell me how to PERMANENTLY delete emails? I mean PERMANENTLY ... no one can read them EVER after deletion |

Surely after two hours in a charcoal fire the platter will just be a blob. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM http://www.fjsmjs.com Please reply in newsgroup. Do NOT send email. |

I don't know what the platters are made of. I thought they were a coated ceramic, but I've never actually checked. steve |
