If you want to tell us exactly what type of problem you are having, we might
be able to help. As it is, your message is really quite vague.

Jim, I want to Import a list of email addresses which are in a Txt
file.
In OE I usually go file/import/other address book/text file and so on,
eventually in make a wab file for me.

But a few days ago this feature stopped working. I go file/import/other
address book,
then nothing pops up after that.

Thanks,
Mike

Is your text file saved in the CSV format? With these headings for each
field?

First Name,Last Name,Middle Name,Name,Nickname,E-mail Address,Home
Street,Home City,Home Postal Code,Home State,Home Country/Region,Home
Phone,Home Fax,Mobile Phone,Personal Web Page,Business Street,Business
City,Business Postal Code,Business State,Business Country/Region,Business
Web Page,Business Phone,Business Fax,Pager,Company,Job
Title,Department,Office Location,Notes

If not, how was your text file created? If it is a CSV file, try creating a
new address book (Start/Run and type: WAB /new ) and see if it will
correctly import there.

The file is a .txt file created in Notebook.
It is a list of email addresses each ending with a comma and on a new
line.
I managed to create a new WAB, but it would not Import/Other Address
Book.
It used to do this a week ago, but my OE has fallen ill???

BTW, I tried System Restore, but it refused. I tried a number of
different backdates, but nothing...I also uninstalled my Zone alarm
during the install, nothing.

In order for Outlook Express to import Contacts, they must be in a
particular format, as I outlined in my first reply. If any of those fields
are missing, they should be replaced with commas, and the file must be saved
with a CSV file extension. I suspect you previously imported a correctly
formatted CSV file that you looked at using Notepad and I don't know of any
way to just import a list you create in Notepad, without manipulating the
data fields to prepare it for import.

Although, if you have a text list, you can open a Compose Message window of
an HTML formatted message, and paste the Notepad info into the Compose
Message pane. Then click the bottom tab marked Preview (View/Source_Edit on
the Compose window menu), to make the links "active" and right click on each
address, selecting "Add to Contacts." That at least can save a lot of
typing and reconfiguring of the information. Your choice.

Sorry Jim, you are not right about Importing a .txt file....OU
certainly lets you Import/Other address Book....then can can choose
"txt file, comma seperated" or "CSV"

I used to do exactly that until a week ago. I typed the Notepad txt
files myself, and made a number of wab files by Import/Other Address
Book....but now it refuses???

Cheers.

Have you installed any updates from Microsoft Update site recently? How
about KN 911567? If so, some people have reported problems with the WAB
file and MS has released a "patch" for users with the problem. See:
www.insideoe.com for more info. A link to the article involved is available
