lost folders

Hi
in OE6, most of my folders have vanished!
They were there last night, but today only the inbox, outbox, sent and
deleted folders, plus ONE of my own personal folders are there, but even the
inbox is only half full.
Looking at the folders in the Outlook Express store location, they are all
there. But when I try to import them, they are not even shown in the list of
'folders to import'.
Any suggestions appreciated.

One you don't want to try to import them from the current message store. So
be sure you have the current folder location.

Go to Tools | Options | Maintenance tab
Press the sotre folders button and note the location of the mesage stores
(DBX files)

Open that folder and check to see if there are any Inbox(x).dbx files where
the x is a number.

if none, check for .dbt files.

if none, get DBXpress http://www.oehelp.com
it can scan the hard drive for the old messages. You will have to remember
as the computer writes to the hard drive, old messages can be deleted.
