Go to Tools | Options | Maintenance tab Press the sotre folders button and note the location of the mesage stores (DBX files) Open that folder and check to see if there are any Inbox(x).dbx files where the x is a number. if none, check for .dbt files. if none, get DBXpress http://www.oehelp.com it can scan the hard drive for the old messages. You will have to remember as the computer writes to the hard drive, old messages can be deleted. |

Hi, Thanks for ur suggestions, but I noticed the Sent Items.dbx files which I copied from the folder of Identities the size was 34Mb but when I restored again by importing messages in Outlook express the size was 16 Mb. Current sent Item size is 16MB while the Original size is 34MB. How do I go ahead now. Tanveer -- survivor4you Posted from - http://www.officehelp.in |

There is lots of wasted space in dbx files so there is no way to determine
if there was message loss from the size of the files. Also, I have seen huge dbx files that have become corrupted and are full of zeroes. see here for message recovery techniques (www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4) and points 2 and 3 for the future. steve "survivor4you" wrote in message ...
