PA Bear: Thanks for the tip - I'm not supposed to bring "outside"
software
into our network. Also, it doesn't really solve my problem. I want to be
able to designate Outlook as my default e-mail. But, if I do that, I then
have no way to open outlook Express 6, because I can't find where the
program resides. It's usually in ProgramOutlook Express/msmin.exe, but
it's not there!!! And remember, I've been using OE6 since we put inthis
network in feb. 2003!! the program is somewhere!! If anyone has an idea
where the executable file is, please let me know so I can create a
shortcut
to it. Thanks for everyone's help. nathan

Understood, but I am currently using OE6 in this environment, it's just

the program file may be and what the name is. thank you again. nathan

No, it sounds like your IT people have used a custom setup file when
the
machine was initially setup and intentionally removed Outlook Express.
Many do this since they don't want their workers to be browsing
newsgroups during working hours. I'd ask them, since they'd be the
best
source of information about it. Good luck.

It's XP SP2. It's a network, mirrored situation but I think programs
like OE6 should be on our own, the client, hard drive. I do a little
admin on the
network and if someone needs Flash or something like that, I'm always
logging
in as the admin and loading the program to the local (C:) drive. I
should havementioned earlier that I did do a search ffor the file. Is
it possible
that OE6 could be running off our server? Any advice would be
appreciated.
Thank you again. nathan

Could it be anywhere else or have a different name? thank you.

My idea is to make Outlook my default e-mail client and put an
