I get mail using "mail.verizon.net". but I can't send mail.

The smtp server is prob named differently. Usually, most ISP's use the same
one to send and deliver your mail but not always. Have you checked
Verizon's FAQ pages? I'm sure they offer instructions on how to set up your
E-mail client correctly.

Try, 'outgoing.verizon.net'.

Also, did you know that your ISP has a web site with a lot of
information, including that? They won't let me go there without a
Verizon log in, though.
