Hi DMarie,

It is not completely clear what you're experiencing, but it is possible to
do some guesswork. The over limit error may be for the server mailbox. This
is particularly true for POP3 accounts, most of which offer limited server
capacity. Usually messages are stored just long enough to be delivered to
the mail client. Messages are then deleted from the server. It is often
possible, however, to leave messages on the server for a limited period of
time.

Check to see if messages are being left on the server. In Outlook Express
the settings is in:

Tools, Accounts, Mail Tab Mail Account Properties Advanced tab

If the option to leave messages on the server is selected then deselect this
option. The server mailbox would then be cleared with a send/receive. If
there is Web access to the account check the number of messages in the
mailbox.

It may be necessary to further explore this issue.

If messages are sent using the Exchange family of mail programs
(includes Windows Messaging or Outlook97/98/2000+) and the option to use
Rich Text Format is selected, it puts the RTF message (and any attached
files) in an attachment called WINMAIL.DAT (application/ms-tnef). But
this attachment is useless to most other mail programs. In some mail
programs (e.g. Outlook Express), the attachment won't even be visible.

The Exchange user can turn off the RTF option for messages to selected
recipients. Note that if sending via an Exchange server, the Exchange
server administrator may be overriding the mail client settings. In
this case, the administrator will need to make changes on the server.
In some cases, the Exchange server actually removes the attachments to
some recipients.

For additional information, see the MS-TNEF WINMAIL.DAT Attachments
section of

If that's not the cause of your missing attachments, then see the
