can OE6 translate?
Iv'e been corresponding to someone who is Russian and doesn't speak much
English(my native tongue). When I recieve emails from that particular person the message is mostly in the Russian language. I don't know much of the Russian language to understand his emails and the way I have been translating these messages is to copy and paste the body of the message and translate it into Babelfish translation website. Does OE6 have the capability, when recieving new mail, to translate foreign language email messages into my language? I am running OE6 on an XPsp2 machine. |

I don't think any email program can do that. Alias |

Translation of languages requires an Artificial Intelligence engine superior to any that currently exist. There are some such, but very poor, called "babelfish": http://www.google.com/search?q=babelfish Pick Alta Vista, or Yahoo!, and you will be taken to a form where you paste the message into a box, and select the "From" language, and the "To" language. Be careful, though; the results are anything but accurate. Translation is beyond the capability of any free application that you can run on your computer. If this is a serious friendship, consider learning the language. -- Norman ~Oh Lord, why have you come ~To Konnyu, with the Lion and the Drum |
