Outlook freezing
 

I restored my puter and I have 98SE ... I d/l IE6.0 and got my outlook 6 up
.... It was working fine, and now I go there and I can not crerate mail. reply
to and email, forward, nothing ... all I can do is read my emails and I
recieve them fine .... everytime I try to create, reply, forward, etc, my
outlook freezes up and I have to conmtrol alt delete it and reopen it .... I
wrote to Microsoft and they said that becouse I have 98se, they will not help
me with the problem, so here I am ... thanks for any help you can give me ...
by the way, I called my server and we removed all info from outlook and re
added it all back in, like starting over, and that did not help

Do you have your anti virus checking your email? Spam program hooked up
with OE? If so, disable them all.

Their is no "outlook 6". There a

MS Outlook 97
MS Outlook 98
MS Outlook 2002
MS Outlook 2003

Possibly some other years. I don't use MS Office, and MS Outlook is a
component of MS Office.

There are also:

MS Outlook Express 4.0
MS Outlook Express 5.0
MS Outlook Express 5.5
MS Outlook Express 6.0

I didn't get started with MSOE until I got a computer in late 2000,
which came with MS Internet Explorer 5.5. MS Outlook Express is a
component of MS Internet Explorer.

Outlook is to Outlook Express as butter is to butterfly; completely
different objects sharing a similar name.

Outlook freezing
 

Go to Start | Run and type msconfig and disable all startup items and
reboot.

If the problem is still there, then go to File | Identities in OE and set up
a new Identity. Make sure you also do points 2 and 3 he

Then see if that fixes the problem.
