I just switched to a different computer, and I am using OE 6.0.
It will not allow me to check my email on a secure SSL server. The complete message is: "An unknown error has occurred. Protocol: POP3, Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x80004005" Can anyone help me? If it matters, I am running Firefox 1.5.0.6 Thanks, oshdaniel |

Hi oshdaniel,
I haven't been able to find a match for the exact error. It is interesting that the error says Secure(SSL) is not selected ("No"). Also, I don't know if "Port: 0" is of significance. A starting point for troubleshooting would be to check the account's configuration. If a filtering program (anti-virus or spam) for e-mail message scan is in use disable this feature. Continue using the A/V system scan to protect the PC. In some instances an A/V program will take control of the port for POP3. This might require a reinstall of the A/V program, but I would not suggest doing this now. -- Tim K. aka Kuay Tim MS-MVP - Outlook Express Lynnwood, WA * wrote in message oups.com...
