? on transferring messages

I did a check for newsgroups that might help me solve this problem, so I
apologize if this has been answered before. I want to transfer all of my
email messages from my old [2yrs] computer to my new one. Both running XP,
the old one is service pack 1 and the new one is service pack 2. I used the
export function in OE to get my address book over with no problems. When I
try the same thing with the messages export, it looks like it's doing
something but doesn't tell me where/if it created a transfer file nor can I
find any instructions to load it to the new computer. I've got a couple of
thousand business emails I really need to get on my new system. Any help
would be GREATLY apprciated.
TIA

This was asked and answered in another group. If you feel you must post to
more than one group, please do not multi-post. Crosspost instead via New
Post | Tools | Select Newsgroups. This way if a post is replied to in one
group, it will also be replied to in the other group(s).

But even crossposting is seldom necessary since those of us that check
posts, do so in more than one newsgroup. Thank you.
