Lost "Current User\Identities" Registry key - how to get back ?

If you delete the Identities key completely, OE will start fresh. If you
want the messages from the old identity, then see
www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4

I would not try recreating a key, but rather let OE reinitialize by deleting
it.

I've inadvertently deleted the key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{code-ommitted}\Software\Microsoft\Outlook
Express]

I can recreate the registry entry by creating a new user, configuring
Outlook express, then exporting from the new user and importing the
key to the old user- but apparently the "code-ommitted" in the key
above has to match something windows has generated elsewhere.

How can I get windows (outlook express?) to re-create the basic key
for this existing user? The user has too many other related security
components, etc to just blow away and start fresh. I don't mind
reconfiguring OE - but right now it will not even run.

Thanks.
