Hit The Limit?

I found out that I could save old posts in OE6 by creating new folders
and sticking the posts I want to save into them but when I got about
100 to 110 posts in a folder, I couldn't put any more into it. Does
anybody know how to increase the number of stored posts I can place in
a folder? Thanks.

Ron

What lead you to that conclusion, do you get any error messages?
Please quote them in full, if so.

Windows version?

Is the machine fully patched at Windows Update?

Have you ever compacted all OE folders?

General OE Caveats:

- Don't use Inbox or Sent Items to archive messages. Move them to local
folders created for this purpose.

- Empty Deleted Items folder daily.

- Disable Background Compacting [N/A in SP2] and frequently perform a manual
compact of all OE folders while "working offline". More at
http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm

- WinXP SP2 only: Do not attempt to close OE via Task Manager or shutdown
your machine if Automatic Compacting is taking place.

- WinXP SP2 only: If your machine is fully up-to-date at Windows Update,
installing the following patch (KB918766) will help to avoid such data loss
in the futu
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...2-98af2256ccc3

This patch will be included in the next Cumulative Update for Outlook
Express/WinXP SP2.

- Your anti-virus application's email scanning feature can also cause
corruption. Disable it. It provides no additional protection.

No error messages: I dragged quite a few messages into a folder and
they stopped at 110 and no more will be accepted. I tried deleting a
duplicate message or two, but the count stays at 110 for some obscure
reason.

Start again, delete that corrupt folder and move the messages again, in
smaller blocks?

How big are the posts? OE cannot deal with files over 2 GB.
