IE7 and OE6
Hi
I just installed IE7. I'm wondering why OE6 is not upgraded to OE7. Steve |
IE7 and OE6
OE has been split off from IE, so there is no OE7.

Was there any truth to the rumours that Windows Mail, that comes with Vista,
was to be available for XP? "Steve Cochran" wrote in message ... OE has been split off from IE, so there is no OE7. steve "SP_1" none wrote in message ... Hi I just installed IE7. I'm wondering why OE6 is not upgraded to OE7. Steve |

No chance at all. There will be a program available for XP/SP2 called
Windows Live Mail Desktop, but from what I see so far, I'm not jumping for joy about it. Will OE6 ever be updated? Or will there still be a standalone email client
after OE6? 'Windows Live Mail Desktop' sounds like something you can only use when you're online (no good for me with my dial-up). Thanks. |

To keep track of things, it helps immensely if you include all of previous
message(s) in your replies to the newsgroup. Thank you. We may see a few fixes for OE6 in the future (but nothing dramatic, I assure you) and anything security-related will be addressed as long as your Windows version is still supported. WL Mail Desktop requires being online, yes. It seems MS figures everybody in the /world/ has affordable broadband access. Go figure. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-Windows (IE, OE, Security, Shell/User) david wrote: Will OE6 ever be updated? Or will there still be a standalone email client after OE6? Role of MVPs (was IE7 and OE6)

I thought they were not part of (employed by) MS in which case your assurance has no foundation. I have also seen statements like "don't ask me I'm not part of MS". These two don't sit comfortably together and obviously I'm not clear on the matter. Thanks. Bill Ridgeway Computer Solutions |
