Loosing Newsgroups when swithcing identities
 

I recently set up a additional identity under OE6 and XP SP2. The original
identity has an email account plus 3 news accounts, each with several NG
subscritions. The new on has only an email account. My store folder is out
on D:

When I switch from the original to the new identity and back to the
original, all subscriptions in the original dissappear. The accounts are
still there but there is nothing in them.

What do I need to do to be able to switch back and forth between identities
and not tloose the newsgroup subscritptions in the original identity?

You've got a problem with that one Identity.

Create a new one, set up the accounts in it and import all the email to it.
The switch to it, set up the newsgroups. Once done, delete the old problem
Identity.

The Folders.dbx file is probably damaged causing you to lose the newsgroups.
It contains the hierarchy of all mail folders/subfolders/available
newsgroups/subscribed newsgroups (all news accounts).

Are you trying to share a single store folder between two Identities? You can't
do that unless both Identities are exact duplicates, which doesn't make any
sense to do on one machine. Do you mean two Identities on one machine, or
different machines?

Are you trying to share a single store folder between two Identities? You

I didn't realize I couldn't share a store folder between two identities on
the same machine. I assume it is just a matter of going to
Tools/Options/Maintenance while in each identity and setting the store
folder to unique name for each identity. Is that correct?

That should do it. You only have to change it for one Identity. ;-)
