OE works even though error message says otherwise, what gives

OE seems to start and run properly. However while running it I get the
following message:

Outlook Express could nto be started. The application was unable to open the
Outlook Express message store.. Your computer may be out of memory or your
disk is full. Cntact Microsoft spport for further assistance. Ox80004005,
183

It seems to have begun after i installed IE7 or perhaps some security update
which occurred around the same time. Any ideas how to alleviate this?

Running Windows 2000? If so, see if this article helps:

OLEXP: Error Message When You Start Outlook Express After Windows 2000
Service Pack 1 Installation:

If not using Windows 2000 and the above does not apply, then see the info at
this link which indicates a problem with the file folders.dbx and its
corruption:

Try compacting your folders.
In the Folder list, select Outlook Express at the top.
Close the Folder list.
On the File menu, point to Folder and click "Compact all folders".
Wait until the process is complete before using your computer.
